Bio.
Born and brought up in Scotland, Ian Herdman moved to England to study where he completed a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art in Brighton
In 1981 Ian moved from London to Milan, spending 4 years as a freelance Display, Props and Exhibition Stand designer. He built up a clientele in the retail business, owned a clothes shop and worked on projects for the Fiera de Milano.
Eventually returning back to London, he began working for the Design Council on the (Haymarket) as one of the main Exhibition Designers for both permanent and touring exhibitions. He was there for 8 years.
For the last eight years Ian has lived and worked between the UK and Palma de Mallorca designing and manufacturing products for the Yacht and Villa industries, and still teaches Visual Merchandising in France for clients such as the Pompidou Metz, the Louvre Lens. Musée des Beaux Arts, Lille, Nantes and Nancy as well as numerous cultural museums and gallery shops across France and the UK.
